A run is one invocation of a governed agent from start to completion or termination. Retries triggered by your orchestrator each count as separate runs. Runs that are blocked at the egress layer before doing any meaningful work do not count toward your monthly quota.
Retention is measured from the time each run record is written, not from the start of your billing period. A 90-day retention window means every audit event is queryable for at least 90 days after it was recorded. Logs are stored in append-only, hash-chained format and cannot be modified or deleted within the retention window.
Yes. The Runta API is a plain HTTPS REST interface with JSON payloads. Official SDKs cover Python and Node.js. Any language that can make HTTP calls and parse JSON works without a client library. The docs include curl examples for every endpoint.
The Sandbox tier is permanently free and includes the full enforcement stack, so you can evaluate Runta's controls before committing to a paid plan. When you upgrade to Governed you are charged from the billing date. No automatic trial charges.
New run submissions are rejected with a 429 response once your monthly quota is exhausted. In-flight runs at the moment the limit is hit are allowed to complete. You receive an email warning at 80% usage. Upgrading your plan restores the quota immediately; it does not wait for the next billing cycle.
