Cookie Policy

1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Runta, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on runtahq.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy. Runta is a developer-facing platform; most people visiting this site are engineers evaluating or integrating the runtime governance SDK. The cookies we use reflect that: they are limited to what is needed to operate the site and measure which documentation topics are actually useful.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow us to recognise your device, store preferences, and measure usage. We also use related technologies such as local storage (for example, to store your cookie banner preference so you are not shown it repeatedly).
3. How We Use Cookies
runtahq.com uses a minimal cookie footprint. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking. The table below describes the categories in use:
| Category | Examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session state, CSRF token, cookie-banner dismissal record | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Theme or documentation navigation state | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Self-hosted, anonymized page-view and navigation analytics; used to understand which docs sections get the most traffic | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Not currently used | N/A |
4. Notice and Choice
Because we operate under a notice-only consent model, non-essential cookies may be active when you visit runtahq.com. Our cookie banner informs you of this. You can opt out of analytics cookies through the banner or by configuring your browser. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without breaking site functionality.
5. Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where applicable state law requires it (including California under CPRA, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon), we honor browser-transmitted opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") for sale and targeted-advertising categories. When we detect a GPC signal, we suppress analytics initialization for that session.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties acting as our service providers for analytics. We have agreements with such providers limiting their use of data to the analytics service they perform for us. We do not permit third parties to set advertising or retargeting cookies on runtahq.com.
7. Managing Cookies
- Use our cookie banner (accessible at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer) to opt out of analytics.
- Browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies; see aboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions.
- Deleting cookies will reset your banner preference; the banner will reappear on your next visit.
8. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when we add or remove cookie categories. The "Last updated" date will reflect any substantive change.
